I got my first Rhodesian Ridgeback in 1983 from my best friend in veterinary school, Dr. Danielle Sand of Ivy League Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Six years later, "Mary" joined the family, and was the foundation of the Ridge View Ranch breeding program. Mary is a Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the US (RRCUS) Register of Merit broodbitch, producer of 8 AKC conformation Champions (including 1 Dual Champion) and 2 additional field Champions. Her daughter "Tyra" won the RRCUS National Specialty Lure Coursing Best in Field honor in 1997. Mary's daughters have gone on to produce many conformation and field Champions of their own. Her daughter "Emma" is also a RRCUS Register of Merit broodbitch, producer of 7 AKC conformation champions, including 3 Dual Champions!
Working in partnership with Ivy League Rhodesian Ridgebacks, we added another RRCUS Register of Merit broodbitch to our ranks, "Evie". "Evie" produced 10 AKC conformation Champions, including 2 Dual Champions, two Best in Field winners ("Xhabbo" & "Abby"), and another National Specialty Lure Coursing Best in Field winner, "Cirque"! Her grand-daughter "Kimaya" won the 2010 National Specialty Lure Coursing. "Eve" won the broodbitch class at the National Specialty in 2004. Eve's daughter "Tilly" is a RRCUS ROM producer with 5 AKC conformation champions of her own. Her son "Cirque" is the sire of National Specialty Best of Breed winner "Rocket" and all-breed best in show winner "Toren".
As a veterinarian, health and temperament are of utmost importance. We perform pre-breeding health screens, including OFA hip and elbow certifications, OFA thyroid testing, cardiac and ophthalmologic examination, BAER/EOD, and Degenerative Myelopathy DNA testing. We breed only AKC conformation champions, and guarantee our Ridgebacks to be healthy and free of heritable diseases.
